Bang Bang

Goooodddd afternoon from Auckland day 3...2 1/2? I don't know, let's go with day 2. Today Faith and I woke up with the intentions of taking the ferry to an island but because its a holiday (Auckland Anniversary) I guess there wasn't any times to board, so instead we bought our tickets for tomorrow and kind of just explored some shops. For breakfast we went by Starbucks and got some quick food to eat. Note to all Americans: The water at Starbucks is still free here but the portion sizes are wayyyyy smaller.

Around noon we caught an Uber to the aquarium and lets just say that based on what I saw from the drive, the outskirts of Auckland is where I'd want to live if I moved here (Which I did at one point but apparently they have a new prime minister as of November and he's a douche canoe so...) but its just so pretty even just 15 minutes outside of the city, it reminds me a lot of Hawaii actually. The ocean is absolutely beautiful and the greenery is so pretty. The aquarium wasn't very big but thats to be expected. We spent a little over an hour there and saw PENGUINS! Also a sea turtle that was missing and "arm". They had some sand tiger sharks too. Those who know me know I really do enjoy going to places like that. I love those kind of things. And the penguins...omg. We saw one who was named Dobby, he was so cute.

We Ubered back to the city and had them drop us off at the art museum we wanted to visit, but we were both starving so we went to lunch at this asian place nearby. It was very overwhelming trying to figure out what to eat, I had no idea what anything was. But I ended up getting this yogurt drink, some dumplings, and this noodle beef bowl? It was good but I don't know if I loved it. I definitely didn't finish it with my small appetite either. Two more girls from the group tour got in today so we invited them to meet us and they did. Moniek is 27 and from Germany and Ingrid is 20 from Norway. We ended up not going to the art museum but we found this really beautiful park right next door and spent some time enjoying the scenery.

Then we took the girls down to the water where we saw another street performance and it was loads of fun to watch. Then we got Gelato and it was delicious. Ingrid and I got to talking and turns out Mamma Mia is her favorite/comfort movie AND she really enjoyed "Anyone but you" so obviously were automatic besties. They're all downstairs playing cards right now but I'm quite tired so I'm in the room resting for a minute. So far it's just me and Faith in the room, everyone else has been put in the rooms next to ours.

I think this ones better with no context

Gelato!!!!

Also...Niners baby! Lets go! Not that I'm saying I had anything to do with it...but let's just say that before I turned the game on they were losing but once I started watching they won...soooooo. I got Faith into it too, I explained to her the basics and then every time they scored she was like "Oh ya! They scored" It was fun to watch.

I ended up joining the rest of them downstairs and there were two new people called Lewis and Connie and they're both from the United Kingdom like Faith. We ended up walking them down to the water (3rd time we had done that just today) and joked the whole time about the different words we use for things. Btw there is absolutely no reason why fires should be called chips...if anything it would make more sense for them to be called sticks or something. Then we went for dinner at a place called Nando's, but I didn't get anything because I'm not hungry. We've got the ferry tomorrow and I think we've got quite the crew coming with us.
