Met Some Locals

Started off today by meeting everyone downstairs for some breakfast, didn't have to much, just some yogurt and a banana. Then the group had a little meeting before we embarked on a tour of Auckland led by Alex. Actually found out some great information about things...none of which I will say here because I am far too tired for all that. Except one thing I will say is that New Zealand is basically Europes Hawaii (As far as the history goes). Also, New Zealand was the first country to give woman rights, so go NZ. But they also lost all funding from Europe for doing that...and yet they still said "Ya no we're going to do the right thing, keep your money" So I think we can all take a lesson from that and realize that you ALWAYS have choices, thank you very much.

After the tour we went to board the ferry to go to Waiheke Island which took about an hour to get to. The island was absolutely amazing, I mean, just incredible. Daydreaming the whole day about being mega rich and living my best life in one of the many mansions there. The group kind of split up and I ended up being by myself for most of the day, which wasn't amazing but wasn't horrible either. I eventually found some of the group by accident while resting in the shade, but it was hot so I didn't go down to see them, just watched from afar at my shady bench.

Once they were all done swimming (no I didn't get in the water, yes I regret it) they saw me and came up to meet me, some of them decided to go to the ferry but Aiden, 26 Irish, stayed with me and we talked for a bit. THEN a group of very intimidating people walked up and sat at the bench with us. Turns out they came to the bench everyday after work on the island. They were very nice though and Aiden got to chatting with them for a while and it was a pretty nice conversation. The group that had gone wine tasting was done by then so we went and met them at the other end of the beach and that was lots of fun. Lewis and Aiden provided all of us with entertainment by just being...I don't know how to explain it, Golden retriever humans? If you get it you get it, if you don't you don't.

We walked back down to the ferry and near the end all of a sudden people in our group started running but Connie, Faith, Shona, and I absolutely did not. So we ended up missing the ferry by 30 seconds...worth it. Lewis waited for us though and we all boarded the ferry 30 minutes later.

Tonight we planned out and booked all the activities we are going to do this trip and are currently doing our laundry and packing up since we have to leave at 6am tomorrow morning. I still need to shower and semi blow dry my hair though so I will leave it at that and update everyone tomorrow!
